Find a unique piece of Japanese artistry in this woodblock-printed accordion book from Kyoto that is a collaboration between the designers at AIUEO and a 100-year old print studio. Known as a goshuincho, the traditional use for this type of book is to collect red stamps and calligraphy from shrines, but it can be used as a photo book, scrapbook, travel diary, or any other idea you have for a continuous folded sheet.
The book cover features original artwork by Tomoko that was hand-carved into woodblocks and then hand-printed one color at at time on artisan paper that is then cut to make the covers (due to the handmade nature of the printing and the placement of the images when cutting, no two covers are quite the same). The book is then hand-finished using a high-quality cream-colored Japanese paper that is set back-to-back to make the two sides of every page.
Measures approximately 7 1/16" tall x 4 3/4" wide, 48 blank pages (24 pages each side). Made by hand in Kyoto from Japanese paper and cardboard.
