      PDX: Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale

We will be volunteering at (and making some cookies and muffins for) Food Fight's installment of the  Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale tomorrow which is raising funds for local animal sanctuaries. There is a large Earth Day celebration happening across the street from the bake sale, so you can make a whole trip of it. All of the money raised will be split among Out to Pasture Sanctuary, Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary, and Ananda Sanctuary. So get out there and get yourself some sugar!

Saturday, April 23, noon-6pm (or whenever they run out of baked goods)

      Food Fight Grocery Warehouse
      1217 SE Stark ST
      Portland, OR

The sale will be in the Food Fight warehouse which you can enter from
the parking lot on the east side of the building. There will be a garage door opened, so just come right in.

SF: George Chen's 4/20 Variety Show

Hey Bay Area, my brother George has put together another Variety Show! It's tonight in SF at ATA (just down the street from our old store). The name/logo is a tongue-in-cheek nod to the date (don't show up expecting a stoner gathering; well, not purposefully). You can read an interview with George and watch a clip of his intro from the first variety show on Argot & Ochre. By the way, our mom does NOT sound like that!

A mix of talk show, comedy, and music performance. Hosted by George Chen
      publisher V. Vale (http://researchpubs.com/)
      comedian Chris Thayer (http://www.facebook.com/christhayercomedy)
      cartoonist Jason Shiga (http://www.shigabooks.com/)
      performance by Tastyville (http://tastyvillepresents.com/)
music by Spaceburn (Steve Santa Maria and Brian Tester)

ATA, 992 Valencia Street, San Francisco
      $5, all ages
      8pm-11pm (music done by 10:30pm)

PDX: Come see us at Stumptown Comics Fest

Tons of comic book artists and publishers (including us!) will be at the Stumptown Comics Fest this weekend, here in Portland. We will be debuting volume 3 & 4 of our Living Things Series by Lilli Carré and Hannah Waldron, so stop on by our booth #A-2 and pick up a copy. We will have special show discounts and will be joined by LO artist Martine Workman, who will be coming down from Seattle with new minis. See you there!

      NY: MoCCA Festival this weekend

If you're in New York this weekend, you'll be in town for the Museum of Comics and Cartoon Art Festival! Looks like lots of great publishers and artists will be converging on the 69th Regiment Armory (68 Lexington Ave) and it will be a great chance to check out new work and attend some interesting panels.
