Eyeworks Animation Festival co-organized by Lilli Carré

Eyeworks Festival of Experimental Animation 2011 Poster Trailer from Eyeworks Festival on Vimeo.

Lucky Chicago! Lilli Carré and Alexander Stewart have organized another Eyeworks Animation Festival for this weekend! Here is the lowdown from their website:

Eyeworks is a festival focusing on abstract animation and unconventional character animation. Festival programs showcase outstanding experimental animation of all sorts: classic films, new works and rare masterpieces.

The Eyeworks programs showcase a range of animation techniques, including paper cutouts, stop-motion, 3D computer animation, and a wide variety of hand-drawn methods. The content of the films is even more varied, and includes cosmic abstraction, psychedelic characters, geometric patterning, and surrealistic narratives.

Eyeworks celebrates animated moving images that express unusual vision, unusual approaches, and unusual style.

PDX: Landland at Music Fest NW Postermart

Our Minneapolis pals Landland are in town today at Jupiter Hotel as part of the Music Fest NW Postermart, which is going on until 10pm. It's a nice manageable show of a dozen or so poster artists and Dan is there with a great selection of their awesome screenprints. Here's a peek at a couple that we picked up!

This beautiful pile of pachinko machines by Jes is for a Ted Leo poster that's getting released at his show tonight at Backspace!

Very funny and detailed poster by Dan that he did for a Coen Brothers themed show. It's full of great hand-drawn fact-checked anachronisms from No Country for Old Men.

Seattle: Martine Workman at Paper Kingdom

Our friend (and LO Artist) Martine Workman is participating in Paper Kingdom tomorrow in Seattle. It's described as, "...a mixed media event interweaving live performances, sound installations and paper art." Should be a good event and it's always fun to see Martine. Stop by and say hi!
